About Me

My name is Benjamin, although I am mainly referred to as Ben. I currently reside in the city of Newcastle, England, with 5 flatmates in University Halls of Residence. The reasoning behind that, is that I study Graphic Design at Northumbria University in the City Center.
I was raised 60 miles south of Newcastle in a small village named Marske, where I lived with my Mum and Dad. I had a pretty normal childhood: friends, playing out, school, etc.

I graduated with Straight Distinctions for a Graphic Design National Diploma from Cleveland College of Art & Design, alongside an A-Level in Photography, at grade “A”. During my time at college, and the time between that and University I have worked freelance as a designer, putting into practice skills in a lot of fields of Design (ranging from Typography to Branding, and Illustration to Photography, etc.)

At almost nineteen years old, I am almost 1/6th of the way through my Degree studies, and my ambitions have not faded at all. I plan on working for the Disney company for at least a year, getting the tattoos I want, moving to a large city with my best friend and setting up our own Graphic Design company: specialising in our chosen fields, learning guitar and being able to sing properly. These are just a few.

I’m very influenced by music, and I feel like I have an incredibly wide musical taste, ranging from Heavy Metal to Classical, and some in between. Some of my favourite artists include Leona Lewis, Evanescence, Flyleaf and Red. One piece of classical music that really moves me has to be Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. It’s just beautiful.

Finally, I am often inspired by the works of other artists, designers, photographers and musicians. A few of these, I would love to meet and discuss their work with them: Annie Leibovitz, Eduardo Recife, Amy Hartzler, David LaChapelle, Tim Burton and Craig Ward, who’s work I’ve just recently discovered.

Anything else you want to know, feel free to add me on Facebook or Myspace.
